Abaya size guide
Order your abaya size by your height, not your dress size. Up to 5 feet 2 inches takes S, 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 5 takes M, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 takes L, and 5 feet 9 and above takes XL. Every Zee & Zaa abaya is cut loose through the chest and hip, so height is the only measurement that changes the fit.

What abaya length do I need for my height?
The table below maps height to abaya length, then gives the garment chest and sleeve for each size. Chest and sleeve are measured flat and doubled, so they are garment measurements rather than body measurements.
| Size | Your height | Abaya length | Chest (flat × 2) | Sleeve |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Up to 5 ft 2 in | 54 in / 137 cm | 42 in / 107 cm | 22 in / 56 cm |
| M | 5 ft 3 in to 5 ft 5 in | 56 in / 142 cm | 44 in / 112 cm | 23 in / 58 cm |
| L | 5 ft 6 in to 5 ft 8 in | 58 in / 147 cm | 46 in / 117 cm | 24 in / 61 cm |
| XL | 5 ft 9 in and above | 60 in / 152 cm | 48 in / 122 cm | 25 in / 64 cm |
How do I measure for an abaya at home?
Stand against a wall without shoes, mark the top of your head, and measure to the floor. That one number picks your size. You do not need a measuring tape around your body, and you do not need to send us any measurements to place an order.
- Measure your height without shoes, standing straight against a wall. That single number is enough, because the body of the abaya is cut loose.
- If you wear heels most days, or you like the hem to sit closer to the floor, take the next size up. The extra length falls, it does not gather.
- Chest and sleeve figures are garment measurements taken flat and doubled, not body measurements. Allow up to one inch of variation, because every piece is cut by hand.
- Fabric changes how a size reads. Premium Nida holds a shape and sits fuller, while luxury flowy crepe falls closer to the body, so a crepe piece can look slimmer at the same measurement.
- Between two sizes and unsure? Take the larger one. An abaya reads better slightly long than slightly short, and a tailor can shorten a hem in ten minutes.
- If it still is not right when it arrives, the 7-day size exchange covers you, counted from the delivery date.
Should I size up if I wear heels?
Yes, size up one if you wear heels of two inches or more most days. A two inch heel effectively shortens the abaya by two inches, which is enough to take the hem from brushing the floor to sitting at your ankle. If you only wear heels for occasions, stay with your height size and keep the flats for everyday.
What if I am between two sizes?
Take the larger size if you fall between two. Length is the one thing a local tailor can fix in ten minutes for very little, while nothing can add fabric to a hem that finished too high. This is also the safer choice if you are ordering for someone else and going by a rough guess at their height.
What if the size is still wrong when it arrives?
Zee & Zaa offers a 7-day size exchange on unworn abayas, counted from the delivery date. Email Zeeandzaaabayas@gmail.com within 7 days with your order number and the size you need, and we send the replacement from Multan. The abaya has to come back unworn, unwashed and tagged, free of perfume and makeup marks, because the next customer receives it.
You do not need to send Zee & Zaa any body measurements to order. Our abayas are cut loose through the chest and hip on purpose, so your height alone decides the size, and the size guide turns that one number into a length in a single step. The full exchange policy has the exact conditions and how to start one.
Fabric changes how a size falls, too. A structured Nida holds its shape while a fluid crepe drapes closer, so it is worth reading how Nida and crepe compare before you choose.
