How the ivory cream reads, in daylight and indoors

Ivory Aura is an off-white with a warm cream base, not a cold optic white, and that choice is deliberate. A true white goes blue under daylight and grey under a tube light, while a warm ivory stays consistent in both and sits kindly against every skin tone. In direct sun it is the coolest piece we make, because a pale surface reflects heat a black one absorbs, which is why it leads on our dry-heat city pages. The question everyone asks first is whether it is see-through. It is not: the crepe is fully lined, so the pale colour costs you nothing in coverage. It takes an ivory or cream hijab for a tonal look, or a deep maroon, olive or black one if you want the contrast. Gold jewellery disappears slightly against it, so silver and pearl actually read better here than on the darker shades. It suits daytime nikkahs, Eid mornings and anywhere you want to be seen without wearing a colour. It is the shade that asks the most of you in care, and the one that looks most expensive when it is looked after.

Choosing a hijab tone to sit with it? Matching a hijab to your abaya colour works through every shade we make.

Keeping the ivory cream looking new

Ivory is the one shade in the collection that needs its own washing rules. Wash it alone or with whites only, never with the maroon or olive, and keep it out of long direct sun on the line, since sun yellows a warm ivory over a season rather than fading it.

Nida and crepe compared covers how each fabric washes and drapes, and the full washing guide goes fabric by fabric.

White Abaya (Ivory), Opaque: your questions answered

Does the white Ivory Aura abaya stay white, or does it yellow?

Kept properly, it holds its colour. A warm ivory does not fade the way a dark shade can, but long hours in direct sun will yellow it over a season, so dry it in shade and wash it alone or with whites only, never with the maroon or olive. The full care note is below.

Is the white abaya see-through?

No. This is the question everyone asks first, and the answer is that Ivory Aura is fully lined, so the pale colour costs you nothing in coverage. The crepe is opaque in daylight and needs nothing underneath but your own clothes.

What hijab suits a white abaya?

A matching ivory hijab comes with Ivory Aura for a tonal look, or wear a deep maroon, olive or black one for contrast. Because gold jewellery disappears slightly against a pale ground, silver and pearl actually read better on ivory than on the darker shades.

Is white a good abaya colour for Pakistani summer?

Yes. Ivory Aura is the coolest shade we make, because a pale surface reflects the heat a black one absorbs, which is why we lead with it on our dry-heat city pages. It suits daytime nikkahs, Eid mornings and anywhere you want to be seen without wearing a strong colour.
